About Harris Z. Tilevitz

Harris Tilevitz is the Chief Technology Officer at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where he has worked since 1987. He is responsible for all aspects of the firm’s information and technology strategy, including application development, litigation support and knowledge management. In 2002, Harris was instrumental in consolidating the firm’s computer systems into three centralized data centers and moving all systems into a private cloud.

Prior to joining Skadden, Harris worked in a variety of capacities for several litigation support companies including Mead Data Central (LEXIS), and he is a recognized expert in the area of legal information management. In 1984, Harris was responsible for client management and operations for a start-up software venture called Document Automation Corporation (“DAC”), which was the first company to develop and market a PC-based litigation support software package. DAC was acquired by BaronData Systems in 1986.

A recipient of the Pro Bono Service Award from the Legal Aid Society of New York (2006), Harris received his J.D. from Benjamin Cardozo School of Law and is a member of the Bar of the State of New York. He is a 1978 graduate (with High Honors) of SUNY-Binghamton and also attended the University of Pennsylvania where he studied History and Sociology of Science. Harris has served on the boards of both non-profit organizations and startup technology companies and serves as an advisor to several companies serving the legal community.
