SVP & CISO, National Basketball Association (NBA)
Rishi Tripathi is the SVP & Chief Information Security Officer for the NBA. As CISO for the NBA, Rishi built & leads the first cybersecurity function for the NBA globally, spanning the leagues: NBA, WNBA, 2K & G-League.
Over his career, Rishi has executed an organization-wide transformation of Information Security for highly complex environments like SCADA Systems, Financial Systems, Manufacturing, R&D Facilities, Cloud Platforms, and many major sporting events
Before NBA, at Tyco (now Johnson Controls), he transformed Tyco’s cybersecurity infrastructure to establish the first-ever centralized classified and unclassified cybersecurity engineering, operations, and regional information security functions for Tyco and Tyco’s Internet of Things platform.
At Citi, he led the Citi Mortgage Information Security Team, resulting in CEO-level engagement, also built and led a global Application Security Team, which pioneered online banking cybersecurity in the early days of online & mobile banking.
While at NextEra Energy Rishi was a visionary in SCADA cybersecurity, he identified early, and secured risks associated with the connected SCADA system.
Rishi holds an MBA in entrepreneurship from Florida International University and a BS in industrial electronics engineering, along with multiple security certifications.
